Welcome to DevForge Academy. By accessing or using our platform at devforgeacademy.com, you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service. Please read them carefully.
1. Acceptance of Terms
By using DevForge Academy ("the Service"), you confirm that you are at least 13 years of age and agree to these Terms of Service and our Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, please do not use the Service.
We may update these terms at any time. Continued use of the Service after updates constitutes acceptance of the revised terms.
2. Description of Service
DevForge Academy is a free online education platform that provides programming tutorials, coding exercises, quizzes, reference documentation, and optional paid certification exams. Access to the core educational content is provided free of charge.
We reserve the right to modify, suspend, or discontinue any part of the Service at any time without notice.
3. User Accounts
Some features may require you to create an account. You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your account credentials and for all activity that occurs under your account.
You must provide accurate and complete information when creating an account. You may not use another person's account or create an account on behalf of someone else without their permission.
We reserve the right to suspend or terminate accounts that violate these terms.
4. Acceptable Use
You agree to use the Service only for lawful purposes and in a way that does not infringe the rights of others. Prohibited activities include: attempting to gain unauthorized access to our systems; using the Service to distribute malware or harmful content; scraping or automated data collection without our written consent; impersonating another person or entity; and using the Service for any commercial purpose without our prior written approval.
5. Intellectual Property
All content on DevForge Academy — including tutorials, exercises, quiz questions, reference documentation, code examples, graphics, and brand assets — is owned by or licensed to DevForge Academy and is protected by copyright law.
You are granted a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable license to access and use the content for personal, non-commercial educational purposes only. You may not reproduce, distribute, modify, or create derivative works without our express written permission.
Code examples marked as free to use in projects are provided under the MIT License unless stated otherwise.
6. Certificates and Exams
Certificates are issued upon passing a paid proctored exam. Exam fees are non-refundable unless the exam fails to deliver due to a technical error on our part.
Certificates represent completion of an assessment on our platform and do not constitute professional licensing or accreditation recognized by any external body.
7. User-Generated Content
If you submit feedback, comments, or other content to us, you grant DevForge Academy a worldwide, royalty-free license to use, reproduce, and publish that content in connection with the Service. You represent that you have the right to grant this license.
8. Disclaimer of Warranties
The Service is provided "as is" and "as available" without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including but not limited to warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, or non-infringement.
We do not warrant that the Service will be uninterrupted, error-free, or free of viruses. We make no guarantee that the information provided is accurate, complete, or current.
9. Limitation of Liability
To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, DevForge Academy shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages arising from your use of the Service, even if we have been advised of the possibility of such damages.
Our total liability to you for any claim arising from use of the Service shall not exceed the amount you paid us in the twelve months preceding the claim.
10. Governing Law
These terms shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the State of Washington, United States, without regard to its conflict of law provisions.
