Image Post-Production Checklist

A mandatory review checklist for AI-generated images before professional use — covering the most common failure modes that require correction.

Syntax

graphic-designer-ai
Before using any AI-generated image professionally:

[ ] Typography check
Any text visible in the image must be replaced with properly set type. Never use AI-generated text.

[ ] Color accuracy check
Compare to brand color standards. AI output shifts colors — correct to match specifications.

[ ] Anatomical check
Examine hands, faces, and complex figure interactions for artifacts and corrections needed.

[ ] Series consistency check
If producing a set, evaluate images together. Do they read as a coherent series? Consistent lighting, style, energy?

[ ] Brand element check
Logos, specific typefaces, and proprietary brand elements must always be added in post — never relied on from generation.

[ ] Background and edge check
Examine edges of objects for generation artifacts, inconsistent backgrounds, and inpainting bleed.

Example

AI-generated campaign image review:

Typography: Headline text in background is broken — letters merged. Replaced with correctly set brand typeface in Photoshop.

Color: Brand blue reading as more saturated than spec. Corrected to #0A4F8C in post-processing.

Anatomy: Subject's left hand has 6 fingers. Inpainting corrected to natural hand.

Series consistency: Image 3 of 5 has noticeably cooler light than the rest. Color temperature adjusted to match.

Brand elements: Logo applied in Illustrator — not visible in generated image, added as final layer.
